Bella fotografia d'epoca che ritrae il giovane re Giorgio VI al fianco della regina (Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon), mentre si reca in carrozza a Westminster per l'apertura dei lavori del Parlamento per la prima volta dopo l'ascesa al trono (Re Giorgio fu incoronato il 12 maggio 1937).
Didascalia dattiloscritta al verso:
"The King, accompanied by the Queen, drove in the State from Buckingham Palace to Westminster today to open the new session of Parliament, for the first time in his reign. Huge crowds lined the route of the procession, which was the first full State procession from the Palace since 1933".
