Curiosa lettera del signor Theo Ruby all'ambasciatore italiano a Washingto, contenente un accorato appello perché l'Italia non entri in guerra a fianco della Germania:
``…This war is a out come of Capitalism and charity of which Germany has taken a lead of killing of mankind. Who will follow??? Germany uses many good things for the worst of purposes…''.
In conclusione, Ruby prega l'ambasciatore di fare di tutto affinché l'Italia scelga di schierarsi con la Francia e contro la Germania:
``…Who gave the Italians the name of PATRIOTI? Italy will not disgrace her history and disappoint il vechio Garibaldi the father of Italia Libera …''.
